Purchase Options Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: April 27, 2026

Some items in our store are available as subscriptions, pre-orders, or on a try before you buy basis. This policy explains how each of these purchase options works and how you can change or cancel them. It applies to all customers, including those in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the United States.

1. Subscriptions

We offer cat litter products on a subscription basis, so you can receive your preferred litter automatically and never run out. When you purchase a subscription, you select the product, quantity, and how often you'd like it delivered.

How it works

  • Your payment details are stored securely and you will be charged automatically before each scheduled dispatch
  • You will receive a reminder email before each upcoming delivery
  • Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their initial term — we will notify you by email in advance of any renewal date
  • If a subscription payment fails, we will notify you and attempt to contact you to update your payment details before cancelling the order

How to cancel or modify

  • You can cancel or change your subscription at any time — there are no cancellation fees
  • To manage your subscription, use the link provided in your order confirmation email, or log in to your Meow Green account
  • Alternatively, contact us at hello@meowgreen.co.uk and we will make the change for you
  • Changes or cancellations must be made before your next scheduled dispatch to take effect for that delivery. If a dispatch has already been processed, that order will still be sent — please refer to our Return & Refund Policy for returning sealed, unused cat litter

Your statutory rights — UK & EU consumers

If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of entering into the subscription agreement, or within 14 days of receiving the first delivery (whichever is later), without giving a reason. This right is protected under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and EU Directive 2011/83/EU.

Please note: the hygiene exception applies to any cat litter packaging that has been opened. Sealed, unused cat litter returned within the cooling-off period will be refunded in full, including standard outbound delivery costs.

German consumers (Widerrufsrecht)

Your right to cancel a subscription (Widerrufsrecht) is protected under §§ 312g, 355 BGB. A model cancellation form (Muster-Widerrufsformular) is available on request at hello@meowgreen.co.uk.


2. Pre-Orders

We occasionally offer products — including new cat litter variants and the Michu XXL Container Cat Litter Box with Scoop — as pre-orders when stock is not yet available. Pre-ordering allows you to secure the product before it becomes available for standard purchase.

How it works

  • At checkout, you may be charged nothing, a partial deposit, or the full price — this will be clearly stated on the product page before you order
  • Where only a deposit is collected, your payment method is stored securely and the remaining balance will be charged when your order is ready to dispatch
  • We will provide an estimated dispatch date at the time of ordering. If this changes, we will notify you by email as soon as possible
  • You will receive a dispatch confirmation with tracking information when your order is sent

How to cancel

  • You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it has been fulfilled and dispatched — contact us at hello@meowgreen.co.uk with your order number
  • If your pre-order has not yet been dispatched, you will receive a full refund of any amounts paid
  • Once a pre-order has been fulfilled and dispatched, it cannot be cancelled, but you may return it in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy
  • If we are unable to fulfil a pre-order for any reason, we will notify you and issue a full refund

Your statutory rights — UK & EU consumers

Your 14-day statutory cooling-off right applies from the date you receive the goods. For cat litter products, the hygiene exception applies to any packaging that has been opened. The Michu XXL Litter Box may be returned within the cooling-off period provided it is unused and in its original packaging.


3. Try Before You Buy

Where available, try before you buy allows you to receive a product and decide whether to keep it before you are charged. This option may be offered on the Michu XXL Container Cat Litter Box with Scoop.

How it works

  • When you place a try before you buy order, we will authorise your payment method for the full amount. This places a hold on funds but does not charge you
  • Your item will be dispatched as normal
  • You will have a trial period (clearly stated on the product page) to decide whether to keep the item
  • If you choose to keep the item, or if the trial period expires without a return being initiated, your payment method will be charged the full purchase price
  • If you wish to return the item, you must initiate the return process before the trial period ends

Returning a try before you buy item

  • Contact us at hello@meowgreen.co.uk before the trial period expires to request a return
  • The item must be unused — for the Michu XXL Litter Box, this means no cat litter has been placed inside it
  • The item must be returned in its original packaging with all components (including the scoop) included
  • Return shipping costs apply as set out in our Return & Refund Policy
  • Once we have received and inspected the returned item, we will release the payment authorisation and you will not be charged

Please note: try before you buy is not available for cat litter products. Cat litter cannot be returned once the packaging has been opened, for hygiene reasons.

Your statutory rights — UK & EU consumers

Your statutory 14-day cooling-off right applies from the date you receive the goods, independently of the try before you buy trial period. Where these overlap, the most favourable timeframe applies to you.
